I think travel-size is over priced. I do like the open-ended play it offers for young thinkers. I will see how the students in my classroom respond to the activity before purchasing any more fractile pieces. I can use a pizza tray for a metal board instead the fancy black board that comes with it. Extra pieces only $14.95 or so.My grandkids of all ages love this!These are really entertaining. Kids used them for a long trip and this was the best toy (meaning the one that entertained them the most)!This toy is providing my 6 year old with many happy hours of fun away from her iPad. Since it's all magnetic it stays together and we haven't had to go chasing down parts, like other small part toys.Be careful, this is a 96 pc kit with metal backer, there is a slightly cheaper fridge version with nearly identical packaging, only 48 pieces and no metal backer. Make sure you are getting the one you want.I would give this 5 stars if it had a better storage solution for the tiles and the case was made of something other than paper. It rips easily because the tiles just don't fit in there well. Other than that great product, good for keeping kids busy and occupied and using their minds.Fractiles have captivated my children for years, so much so that recently I purchased a second set The kids really enjoy making shapes, flowers, pictures, etc. with the colorful pieces, while at the same time they are learning about geometry. This is an excellent tool for learning as well as for keeping the kids busy and out of trouble, especially while traveling. They easily store inside their own little travel jacket (I put the whole thing in a ziploc baggy) and can help keep everyone sane during long trips by car, train, or plane!My 6 year old loves this and I love it knowing that she's learning while having fun.I purchased the travel version of Fractiles-7 because it has a lot of pieces that can be contained (restricted) to a small area. It will be a great gift for my grandchildren, and their mothers will appreciate the fact that the pieces cannot go everywhere! It will also make for great entertainment on road trips or at home.
