When I started traveling full time I went with this bag as my primary with just a smaller day bag to carry all my things. I was still getting the feel for what I’d actually need (still kind of am) and so the 65l was a great starting point. I’ve since downsized a bit and am considering the 40l, but I’d really like to see a few added features first. I have a review of the 65l on YouTube if you want to look it up; sorry, I can’t post links here. It’s a bit of a “what’s in my bag” video, so it might be a little long for some, but it shows how much you can actually carry with this, and I also talk a bit about my wish list items for the next update. Things like connection clips in the front for the Daylite Travel pack and an internal pocket on the lid. But overall the barebones pit these bags are is a great fit for my packing style using cubes and pouches to separate my things. This is another way to get the absolute most out of any bag IMO.The material does scuff a bit, but I think it will hold up well over time. It's not a waterproof bag, but the material offers good resistance. The 40l and 65l versions come with a shoulder strap, but I’d go with the backpack straps in all but sort transfers unless you aren’t carrying much. I might even opt for the side handle instead of carrying the shoulder strap with me.Even though I would still like to see these small changes, as is this bag is still very high on my list of favorites.ProsLightweight and durable construction that holds a lot! This could vary from person to person, but I found the backpack straps very comfortable.Quick access pocket on the top (exterior) for stowing small items.Nice strong zippersConsNo clips for the Daylight Travel on the backpacks straps. Being a minimal style bag I see this being used with a secondary bag. This just seems like a perfect fit as the Transporter Duffels don’t have a laptop compartment or any sort of organization. No rain cover pocket; the addition of one on the bottom would be great. There is only one small internal mesh pocket on the bottom which is a bit hard to get to, I think one on the inside of the lid and or one down a side would be much more useful.Just received this yesterday so no use yet. My initial impression is very positive. The duffle appears to be as advertised and what the positive reviews reflect. I bought this as a BOB/survival bag rather than go with a Maxpedition, 5.11 etc which are so tactical looking. This bag is very light yet sturdy, robust and seemingly very water resistant. The overall build quality seems excellent. The stowaway shoulder straps are well designed and most likely very comfortable when bag is loaded. I do believe that this 65L will be the ideal size for my application although the 40L would most likely be too small. One of my other considerations for this bag was that it be small enough to take as a carry-on when flying. This is the ideal size for many uses.I've got a 40L that I love, except its a bit small. I should've bought the 65L originally, but didn't think it would be allowed as a carry-on. Overall, the 40L is great, maybe for a weekend trip. But if you are going on a trip with gear, it's not big enough for clothes + gear. At least now and my daughter have matching packs!I bought it because I was tired of wheeling a suitcase around the airport and have been looking for a good luggage backpack. When I saw Osprey had once and knew how much I love my 65L mountain trip backpack, I said why not. I have been extremely impressed and looking forward to more trips and using for weekend camping trips with the wife and throwing in my climbing gear.I've always admired Osprey products, but this is the first one I've owned. It's both good looking and made like iron. It gives a ton of room for packing and I love the utility of being able to carry it like a duffel or backpack. I've only used it once at this point, but I think I will get years of trips out of it.Great size, holds a lot, bag does not add a lot of weight.Nice straps, very spacious and comfortable to carry. At 65L it can get heavy, luckily my wife has me mule it around for her. It’s still pretty easy to lug with the backpack straps. This is a winner! This bag is endless! Holds everything. Super sturdy and the straps are soft. Such a great purchase.its well made, water proof to a certain point and love that the straps fold away for those flights...feels good on your back and you can pack a lot into these little bags.Point to remember is that you need to order the correct size, this size is perfect for me as a traveller but in my opinion anything less than 65 litre will be too small. i gave the previous 40 litre to my girlfriend as it was just too small but 65 litre is great. If your wanting a large backpack for hiking then go bigger than this 65 litre as this is just right for medium use like my camera gear...I have never regretted this purchase once. very useful sized bag, I use it for most week long getaways and it manages to take everything I need. Handles on all sides makes it easy to manage when loading the car etc. and the straps mean that you can put it on your back if you've got small people or animals to manage as well.A great bag. Large zip gives easy access. Water resistant so good in bad weather. Comfortable to carry on backWanted a bag to transfer clothing and kit from place to place when I did the Coast to Coast. Loved the Osprey 'Hikelite' 26L day rucksack, so thought I'd get the Transporter to compliment this. Very satisfied.Bag envy from my friends. Top quality bag, good hard wearing material and the rucksack straps have been very handy so far. Looks good too.
