I've got two of these, one for each of my 12-pound cats, and we've been using them for three years. They're the perfect balance of structure/safety and lightweight convenience. You can zip the carrier apart, roll the center piece up, and zip the outer shell back together for very slim storage. There's a soft velcro bottom you can take out to clean, the plastic clips and zippers are holding up nicely (and the shell's zippers have little safety loops to keep them closed), and the mesh windows are kind of a tough rubberized screen, not just thin clawable thread. I recently went on a road trip with my cats, and one stayed snuggled up in his carrier the whole time, and the other decided to camp out on top (so, they've got enough structure not to cave in!). The only thing I could consider complaining about is that I have not found anything resembling a "leash holder" inside, but with so many zippers, you could probably link one outside and zip closed around it.
